The seeds of ASSYA were planted in 2004 when designer Tessa Grazzini came back from a trip to India with a hand full of colourful stones, an interest she fostered from childhood. Armed with a natural eye for design and a passion for stones and colours, Tessa set about establishing her own distinctive style and vision of the brand’s creations. "I wanted to create beautiful jewellery for stylish women of the world by taking unusual gem stones and converting them into high quality, fashionable affordable accessories. The objective of my creations is to adorn women and make them glamorous everyday, whether in their jeans or at a cocktail party!"

Italian born, Tessa lived in America and South America and travelled the world extensively before settling in London. She first worked at Sotheby's and then Estee Lauder before completing jewellery courses at Central St Martin's and creating her first collection which was an instant hit. Tessa finds her inspirations in the Orient's exotic shapes, architecture, art and colours. But most of all she takes inspiration from women all over the world.

The Brand

ASSYA jewels are true works of art that combine excellence in the working of silver, vermeil, 18ct gold and specially sourced custom cut semi-precious and precious stones. Each piece is carefully handmade using only the highest quality materials in ASSYA workshops in the UK and Italy. Gemstones and colours are intrinsic to the design process giving each piece its uniqueness. The label is also known for experimenting with different finishes including its trademark shimmer finish, achieved using a sand blasting technique over silver and gold.

The first ASSYA stand alone boutique opened its doors in August 2005 at the heart of Notting Hill attracting a loyal following and fast becoming a destination place for fashion circles around the world.

In 2008, Tessa's sister, Ninfa, joined the company following a 10 year Marketing career from brand consultancy to senior marketing roles in the beauty and food industries. Ninfa brought her substantial Marketing expertise and commercial know how to build ASSYA into an international brand.

Today ASSYA is fast becoming an established and much loved jewellery brand within the UK and abroad. The fashionable yet timeless designs are a favourite among celebrities such as Cheryl Cole, Kimberly Walsh, Eliza Doolittle, and Elle Macpherson. ASSYA has also become a favourite among leading publications and is regularly featured in Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Glamour and Grazia.
